The Regional Study Tour (RST) of the GMS CDC project is a duty travel undertaken by a group of CLV policy makers in communicable diseases control. The purpose of RST is to learn from peers from other countries – whether CLV countries or not – to enable better knowledge for national policy-making in the given field. As such, study tours are an integrated part of the “dialogue for regional cooperation” and for national CDC-related policy making.

Summary  
Main purpose The overall goal of RST is to enhance the evidence base of policy making in specific field of CDC through peer discussion among country officials and professionals.
Participants A limited group of policy-makers from the three CLV countries.
Number of participants Up to 6 (or 2 per CLV country)
Duration 1-5 days (including traveling time)
Funding source Regional Pooled Fund of the GMS CDC Project
Budget <10,000 USD [or 20,000USD if only 3 tours are organized]
Organizer(s) CLV institution(s) / RCU (pending on whether tour is in CLV or not)
Technical Assistance WHO and ADB TA if needed
Minimum preparation time required At least 3 months in advance
