The event was hosted and organized in Quang Tri province (Vietnam) by the Border health Quarantine Division of the General Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health, Vietnam Ministry of Health with the financial and technical assistance from the Kenan Institute Asia and the Regional Coordination Unit of the ADB GMS CDC Project. The scope of the exercise mainly focused on communication, response coordination and information sharing in response to self reference human cases of avian influenza H1N1 which corresponds to WHO Pandemic Alert level 5 involving Lao and Vietnam.
